Houseplant of the Month
The ‘Houseplant of the Month’ in June is potted chrysanthemum. The fresh, bright cheerful colours make it a summery ffeature that does well both indoors and on the garden table. The unusual new flower shapes of the chrysanthemum – such as spoon, anemone, spider or pompon – are an absolute eye-catcher. Classic colours are increasingly being supplemented with more and more eye-catching colours such as lemon, salmon, bronze, deep purple!
Garden Plant of the Month
Climbing fruit are the ‘Garden Plants of the Month’ in June. Whether wall, fence, frame or balcony – a pick-your-own garden do not require much room. These plants are fun from the early summer into the autumn – from attractive foliage to the fruits up to the harvest. It is an educational experience for children to see the fruit growing and to know where the food comes from.
The ‘Flower Agenda’ in June is highlighting the magnificent peony. In Europe, this flower is known since 1784. In China they had fallen under its spell long before that – there the peony was cultivated not only for its flowers, but particularly for its roots. According the Chinese it could be used to reduce fever and clot blood. The peony is often used in bridal bouquets and striking centrepieces. There are endless varieties – more than 1000 varieties in all sorts of shapes and colours. Fascinate your customers with peonies in pale yellow, romantic white, candy pink or dark red.
Each month, the Flower Council of Holland advertises new flowers and plants with different campaigns in several European countries. In the Flower Council of Holland’s campaign calendar, you can look up which flowers and plants are at the centre of attention during a specific period.
