Successful African Week at Veiling Rhein-Maas

24 October 2025

The first African Week at Veiling Rhein-Maas was a resounding success! From 6 to 9 October 2025, we were able to showcase the impressive variety of African roses and summer flowers from the member operations of our two parent companies, Royal FloraHolland and Landgard. The exhibition, which transformed our foyer in Straelen-Herongen into a colourful floral paradise with flowers from our suppliers, was very well received.

Highlights of the week:

  • Strong customer response
Our African Week met with great interest among customers, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday. Many valuable discussions took place and there was an intensive exchange between customers, suppliers and our own employees at the information points.

  • Focus on diversity and quality
The exhibition offered a broad overview of the summer flower and rose assortment from Africa. The products are available through Veiling Rhein-Maas' various purchasing channels. The diversity and high quality of the cut flowers not only impressed our customers, but also sparked lively discussions about our purchasing channels and, in particular, about working with the Klokservice.

  • New contacts and expanded networks
Among other things, our existing customers were able to get to know our Klokservice better as a complementary purchasing channel, which led to further exchange and new ideas. In addition, several new customers took part in the event and were impressed by our range and services.

  • Exciting insights
The presentations by the Local Office Kenia gave participants insightful insights into the import and processing process for African cut flowers.

  • Positive feedback
The event was well received by guests, many of whom expressed a desire for similar events in the future. Guests appreciated that our foyer was once again used for a diverse product presentation, which also featured exclusive and rare products beyond the ‘standard range’.

  • Successful exchange with partners
The African Week not only provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our range and services, but also left a lasting impression on our customers and partners.

‘The African Week was a real door opener and offered interesting insights into the range of flowers available from Veiling Rhein-Maas from various African countries. The variety of products on offer and their high quality were particularly impressive. It was a great opportunity to discover new products and suppliers, learn more about sourcing options and conditions, and engage in conversation with each other,’ said Andrea Kirchhoff, Managing Director of BGI (Verband des deutschen Blumen- Groß- und Importhandels).

The close exchange and direct connection between suppliers and customers via our marketplace was a clear added value of the week. Based on the positive response, we plan to establish similar events in our foyer in the future.
