For Veiling Rhein-Maas, the quality of the delivered products is of fundamental importance. For this reason, Veiling Rhein-Maas has its own Quality Control department, which supervises the correct application of quality data by suppliers. Our quality inspectors check the information from the supplier before the auction, advise the suppliers and, if necessary, change the information. They check the products at random. The supplier himself is responsible for the correct delivery and quality of his products. This also applies to all information on the consignment delivered.
If you as a customer discover that the quality or sorting of your purchased products does not correspond to the information given, you can submit a complaint to the quality inspectors of Veiling Rhein-Maas. Please always provide the following information when submitting a complaint by e-mail: Lot number (delivery note number), your customer number, date of purchase, telephone number, pictures of the reason for your quality complaint. If the complaint is accepted, the costs incurred will be charged to the supplier, because Veiling Rhein-Maas works according to the "cost causer = cost bearer principle". The easiest way for you as a customer is to fill in the "Reaction form" (Formular Reklamation, German) and send it by e-mail to Quality Control Potted Plants or Quality Control Cut Flowers. Complaints regarding quantity, contents or packaging must be addressed to the Customer Service (Verteilaufsicht). These complaints can be reported to the Customer Service up to one hour after the end of distribution.
Reliability index (BI)
The trustworthiness of the delivery information is assessed at flower and plant auctions with the BI system ("Betrouwbaarheidsindex", reliability index). As a customer, you can see from the BI value how trustworthy the delivery information of a supplier is. This reliability index uses the letters A to E to indicate how many of the hundred most recently delivered lots have all the delivery information correctly indicated. We have compiled further information for you in the leaflet " Zuverlässigkeitsindex (BI) für Kunden" (German).
At the auction clock in Straelen-Herongen, high-quality flowers and plants of certain product groups can be marketed under the title "Premium Quality", which has established itself as a popular "brand" among Veiling Rhein-Maas customers. In the potted plant sector, Anthuriums, Buxus, Calluna, Chrysanthemum, Cyclamen, Euphorbia pulcherrima, Gaultheria, Helleborus, Lavender, Pelargonium zonale, Phalaenopsis, Osteospermum and bulb plants can be offered as "Premium Quality". In the cut flower sector, these are particularly high-quality gladiolus, lilies and ranunculus.
VBN product specifications
Veiling Rhein-Maas is based on the VBN product specifications (The Dutch Flower Auctions Association). These product specifications are used worldwide and show the requirements for each product group that the respective product must fulfil. These agreements relate to product quality, sorting and packaging of the product and additional information. The product specifications form the basis for quality assurance and make the auction offer transparent for customers. All current VBN product specifications as well as information and photos on the maturity and volume of various products can be found on the VBN website.
