“Horticulture is my livelihood and a fascinating and diversified daily challenge,” says Michael Hommes, who operates the family business Gartenbau Hommes together with his father. In our latest “Anlieferer im Rampenlicht” video, we introduce you to Gartenbau Hommes from Straelen, which can look back on more than 60 years of horticulture tradition.

Classic assortment of potted plants
The horticultural farm produces 8-9 million potted plants per year on an area of 7 hectares. Gartenbau Hommes offers a wide range of products, including Tagetes, Nemesia and Petunia in summer, and Calluna and Chrysanthemum in autumn. The company is constantly growing and is actually looking for new land in order to decrease its share of leased ground.

Good prices at the auction
“Veiling Rhein-Maas is an important and reliable partner for us,” Michael Hommes points out. “We can constantly supply large volumes and generate good revenues at the auction. Our customers appreciate the permanent accessibility of our products in addition to the good product quality that we offer.”
