New ‘supplier in the spotlight’ video: Pinsdorf Flowers.

10 July 2019

"Our Cynara artichokes are being marketed while they bloom. This is relatively rare on the current market, because it is very intricate to transport them," explains Rainer Pinsdorf, who runs the family business in the third generation.

On approximately 15 hectares of open land and 2,500 square meters of greenhouse space, further cultivars beneath artichokes are being produced: tanacetum, pumpkins, myosotis, bellis, levkojen, bearded carnations, paeonies, snapdragons, eucalyptus, helianthus as well as panicum and chrysanthemums. Pinsdorf Flowers does not have a problem with young talents. The next generation is already in the starting blocks to take over the parental business. In the new `suppliers in the spotlight´ video we introduce `Pinsdorf Flowers´ to you.

Advantageous geographical location
Pinsdorf Flowers is located in Alfter between Cologne and Bonn - in the Rhineland lowlands. "Our production area lies a little lower, which favours the production of our outdoor cultivars," says Rainer Pinsdorf. Due to the sheltered location in the foothills, the products can be supplied to Veiling Rhein-Maas from early spring to late autumn.

Proceeding digitalisation
Rainer Pinsdorf is aware of the importance of up-to-date product photos. Only with daily updated product photos, we can inform our customers at the auction clock about the current cutting maturity and product quality," explains the master gardener. The company also uses Clock Service and Clock pre sales to market the various products at Veiling Rhein-Maas.
