Reopening of garden centres and hardware stores in Belgium

17 April 2020

The curfew in Belgium was extended on Wednesday 15 April 2020 until at least 3 May 2020. However, garden centres and hardware stores may reopen under the same conditions as grocery stores. Among other things, it must be ensured that there is a minimum distance of 1.5 m between each other and that there is only one customer per 10 m² of shop space for a maximum of 30 minutes. Previously, flowers and plants could only be sold in grocery stores or pet food shops. Florists and garden centres had to close their shops and were only allowed to offer their goods online with delivery.
