Successful customers and suppliers day 2018

On Tuesday 9 January 2018 Veiling Rhein-Maas organised the seventh customers and suppliers day – this time on the important topic ‘Future opportunities: digitalisation in the green sector’. In total, around 440 customers and suppliers followed the invitation of the auction – even more than last year.

Looking back on 2017 and forwards to 2018
After being welcomed in the foyer of the auction – where products from several suppliers provided a colourful Valentine’s Day display – the guests took their seats in the auction room. Uwe Bedenbecker and Marc Schax, Managing Directors of Veiling Rhein-Maas, jointly opened the event. First of all, Marc Schax provided an outlook about the German market in 2018 followed by a closer look on products, volumes and prices at the marketplace in Straelen-Herongen throughout 2017. Subsequently Uwe Bedenbecker presented an overview of new customers acquired in 2017, various activities, projects and trade-fair attendance. In addition, he informed the audience about the development of the different sales and purchasing channels, and shared Veiling Rhein-Maas’ approach to digitalisation with the attendees.

Inspiring guest speaker
He was followed by Sanjay Sauldie, who advises global companies in terms of internet marketing. In an inspiring presentation with great enthusiasm and expertise, he explained to all attendees in clear, comprehensible terms, why exactly they need to invest in digitalisation right now. Our customers and suppliers took home many ideas ‘from practice to put into practice’ from this presentation, about how they could implement digitalisation in their companies.
