Review of 2019 and outlook into 2020
The guests were welcomed with a musical greeting by the Torunski Brothers in the foyer of the auction in Straelen-Herongen. After being received by the employees of Veiling Rhein-Maas, customers and suppliers took their seats in the auction hall, where the first part of the event took place. After the opening of the event, Franz-Willi Honnen, who has retired as managing director of Veiling Rhein-Maas at the end of 2019, was adopted. Afterwards the new management (Günther Esser and Cees Hoekstra) informed the guests about the development of the auction in the past year and gave an interesting outlook on the projects, activities and plans for 2020. Following Günther Esser and Cees Hoekstra, our guest speaker Armin Nagel held an entertaining speech closely related to the topic of the customers and suppliers day 2020.
"The customers and suppliers day is always an important date for me at the beginning of the year as it also marks the start of the season." Many guests gave us positive feedback and pointed out that the great atmosphere and the professional organisation of the customers and suppliers day 2020 made it an event not to be missed.
Service should be fun
During the second part of the event, Veiling Rhein-Maas provided information about the logistics department, the quality control (including plant passport) and the new Webshop. In addition, the attending guests were able to talk to exhibitors from our mother companies Royal FloraHolland and Landgard in person. Furthermore, a variety of products from suppliers of the auction were staged in a teaser, which announced the next edition of the trend presentation `Rhein-Maas Next´. In close collaboration with the `Fachverband Deutscher Floristen´ (FDF), `Rhein-Maas Next: Feel Nature´ will be opened on 21 April 2020 in the foyer of Veiling Rhein-Maas in Straelen-Herongen. We would like to thank all participating suppliers for making their products available.
