`Lauras Stern´ – First Poinsettia baptism at Veiling Rhein-Maas

25 November 2020

At Veiling Rhein-Maas, the Poinsettia `Lauras Stern´ was christened on 25 November 2020 in the auction room in Straelen-Herongen, coinciding with the official start of sales. A marketing concept for this special Poinsettia was previously developed together with the regional German partners Gartenbau Schmidt from Grefrath and Dümmen Orange from Rheinberg.

At first, Günther Esser (Managing Director of Veiling Rhein-Maas), Maik Epping (Dümmen Orange) and Marco Schmidt (Gartenbau Schmidt) explained the jointly developed concept. Subsequently, `Lauras Stern´ was officially christened by Günther Esser and Laura Bouten (Auctioneer of Poinsettias at Veiling Rhein-Maas and name patron). After the baptism, the customers of the marketplace were able to immediately buy the Poinsettia at the auction clock.

Marketing concept `Lauras Stern´
"Our Midi Poinsettia in classic red is very attractive due to its good branching and a recycling pot," explains Marco Schmidt. "The high durability has been proven many times in practice. When I think of a Poinsettia, I immediately think of shining stars and the scent of Christmas."
As the responsible auctioneer for Poinsettia, Laura Bouten was the perfect name patronage. The idea for this product was developed together by Veiling Rhein-Maas, Gartenbau Schmidt and Dümmen Orange. Apart from a matching bag, the stick with pleasant Christmas scent and the shining star are special. "The new marketing concept is intended to persuade consumers to buy and to create a cosy atmosphere in the pre-Christmas period," says Marco Schmidt.

Gartenbau Schmidt
Since 2010, Gartenbau Schmidt has marketed its products at Veiling Rhein-Maas in Straelen-Herongen. The company for potted plants is managed by Bernhard Schmidt. His son Marco Schmidt is the operations manager and responsible for sales.
