Modernisation of the auction clock front

30 April 2020

Despite the effects of the Corona crisis, Veiling Rhein-Maas continues to invest in the auction room - the commercial heart of the auction - and is carrying out the maintenance and modernisation measures as planned. After the modernisation of the control panels, as a second measure, the replacement of the complete auction clock front with a LED display will follow in the near future.

LED technology allows flexible display
The upper part of the auction clock front was already converted at the beginning of 2014, now the lower part will also be equipped with the latest technology. The first technical preparations for this have already begun. The implementation phase in the auction room is expected to start in the middle of June 2020, during which two auction clocks will be converted at a time. As part of these modernisation measures, a scaffold will be set up in the auction room. Nevertheless, the operating of six auction clocks should be possible at any time. The completion of the modernisation is scheduled for September. With the new LED technology, the auction can be conducted with even greater energy efficiency. In addition, the display is more flexible than before, so that it can easily be adapted to customer requirements.

Many thanks for your understanding!
Of course, we will do our best during the modernisation measures to ensure that the auction operation at six auction clocks is as free of disturbances and interruptions as possible. Should any inconvenience arise anyway, we ask for your understanding and cooperation in this major modernisation project in advance. We will keep you informed about new developments on our website.
