Positive Mother's Day week 2021 at Veiling Rhein-Maas

10 May 2021

Like in the previous year, Veiling Rhein-Maas had a successful Mother's Day week in 2021. Business around Mother's Day was good across all areas and market channels, especially thanks to consistently high demand. Due to the persistently cool weather and few hours of sunshine in April, the availability of flowers and plants, also in the import sector, was significantly lower this week compared to previous years. Also due to the Corona pandemic, the digital market channels of Veiling Rhein-Maas continued to be used increasingly. Remote Buying, Clock pre sales and the Webshop achieved significant growth due to higher customer participation.

Good price level and popular products
The two strongest sales days of Mother's Day week were Wednesday, 5 May 2021, and Monday, 3 May 2021. Overall, good price levels were achieved for both cut flowers and potted plants. As often the case in previous years, demand for bedding plants was lower this week. Popular potted plants were tub and patio plants, hanging baskets, flowering houseplants as well as high-quality bowls and arrangements. At cut flowers, demand was high for all products, especially for tulips, eustoma, ranunculus, exclusive cut flowers and bouquets.

Thank you!
Only with joint efforts the auction in Straelen-Herongen can continue to run smoothly. Veiling Rhein-Maas would once again like to expressly thank all suppliers, customers and employees for their excellent cooperation, trust and loyalty to our marketplace in these challenging times.
